About Us

Animal Rescue Clinic is a charitable 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Phelps County, Missouri. ARC was founded in 2019 by Dr. Jessie Melton, a local veterinarian, who has always had a passion for animal rescue and helping people and animals in need. ARC's board, volunteers, and foster homes include many compassionate members of the community who are coming together and working hard to make this organization a success.

Short Term Goals

  • Provide rescue, veterinary care, and foster care for homeless animals with special needs or animals that would otherwise be euthanized due to their medical conditions.
  • Ensure that these animals are adopted into loving, dedicated homes.
  • Provide low cost spay/neuter and other veterinary services to other 501(c)(3) animal organizations and municipal shelters.
  • Help educate the public about responsible pet ownership.

Long Term Goals

  • Establish a physical location in which our veterinarians can provide veterinary care and perform surgeries, as well as temporarily house the animals in our care that need more extensive treatments or are awaiting foster home placement.
  • Provide rescue to other species of animals (birds, reptiles, pocket pets, horses, goats, etc).
  • Provide low cost spay/neuter to low income families in the community.
  • Offer vaccine/microchip clinics and educational seminars to the community.
  • Start a fund to help low income families pay for emergency veterinary care for their pets.
